West Coast Swing Beginner Bootcamp
Complete Beginner to Dancer in Only 2 Hours
Every year during Easter Swing, the Seattle Swing Dance Club hosts a FREE bootcamp for beginners with local instructors. These instructors will create a safe and fun environment for you to begin your dance journey with a fast-growing, global dance style.
Afterward, we invite you to join us in the main ballroom to watch the Friday evening show and social dance.

4:30pm – 6:30pm | Bootcamp (complete beginners welcome!)
6:30pm – 7:30pm | Social Dancing
7:30pm | Main Ballroom Upstairs Opens
8:00pm | Free evening show and dance by showing your wristband

We have a very active group set up to help everyone find hotel room mates, rides, and strictly competition partners!

We post actively throughout the weekend and in the months leading up the event every year.

But invite your friends! You’ll rotate between various partners during the class. You may choose to lead or follow, regardless of your gender, whichever role you prefer.

Pants or jeans are recommended instead of shorts. Comfy and/or stretchy jeans, yoga pants, trousers, etc. are all great options.

Leather or suede soles recommended, avoid rubber soles if you can.
You can test out your shoes by sliding them (while wearing them) on your kitchen floor, and if they don’t squeak and/or grab the floor, then they’ll probably do fine.

Water stations will be available in all ballrooms, but feel free to bring your water bottle, Gatorade, etc. if you like.

You may want to freshen up before the social dancing.
Some attendees will dress up a bit fancier for the shows Saturday evening. This is not required, but you are welcome to do so too.

Event parking is provided by the hotel free of charge.
